ANNA CALLEJA
Anna Calleja (b.1997) is a Maltese artist. Calleja looks back on her own notions of comfort to confront an anxious present and grapple with an uncertain future. Calleja's interest lies in dualities; the tension and dissonance between comfort and melancholy, isolation and connection, love and grief.
In 2022, Calleja was awarded the Premju Ghal-Arti for Best Young Artist of the Year by Arts Council Malta.
Education: BA Fine Art, Falmouth University (First Class Hons), 2017-2020
