R Gallery is a contemporary art space located in the heart of a bustling seaside town called Sliema in the Mediterranean island of Malta. Built as a British military hostel at the turn of the 20th century, the art nouveau edifice has been transformed from a place of sanctuary for soldiers into a spacious host for bold contemporary art.

Mark Sullivan is the owner and director of R Gallery. An architect and engineer by profession, the urban environment is his playground where he searches for ways to implement the power of art and design. He is the co-founder and partner of SON Architecture and Design Studio, which was set up in 2017 in the capital of Valletta, Malta.
Alba Zari is a Bangkok-born Italian artist. Her work has been exhibited in international festivals and museums such as MAXXI, Rome, London Art Fair, Circulation Paris and Athens Photo Festival; won awards such as Backlight prize (Finland) and GraziaDei prize (Italy), Images Vevey Jury prize (Switzerland) . Her work is held in private collections and museums such as Fotomuseum Winterthur, MAXXI museum, Fondazione Orestiadi and Collezione Donata Pizzi.
